Treatments are performed with patients lying prone on a specially designed and patented treatment table that places the patient in the optimal position for spinal mobilisation. In addition, the table is designed to provide for the comfort of both the patient and the treating therapist. Unlike other treatment tables, patient's find they are in a more natural and comfortable position of relaxation. There is minimal joint compression, their arms rest comfortably in a natural and neutral position and the tapered shape allows the therapist to get close and right over the spine. In addition, the table is powered to move up and down to allow for the therapist to treat all body types comfortably. The unique and freely moving leaf-spring face mask acts to protect and support the cervical area during thoracic mobilisation.

The highly advanced software of the TAMARS treatment continually adjusts itself to the methods of the working practitioner to ensure the treatment is as efficient as possible. It is also designed to "tease" the joints of the spine into movement rather than to "force" movement. This is not only more pleasant and totally safe for the patient but is also more beneficial for the long term condition of the spine.

The TAMARS treatment can be used with varying degrees of force. It can be graded down so that its touch is feather light or can be graded up to treat even the largest of men. The grades of treatment are continually adjusted by the practitioner and depend on how fixed the individual joints are.

The handset (bionic hand) is controlled by the practitioner and is worked along the full length of the spine. Practitioners can feel the response of every joint and continuously adjust their touch to encourage each joint back to mobility. This mobility in the spine ensures the whole structure is working much more efficiently as weight is now shared by the whole spine rather than certain focal points such as the upper neck and lower back.
